Her early successes in the performing arts, that is now known to be Maureen O'Hara, would certainly qualify her to be in being in the "child prodigy" category. But for a person of Irish heritage surrounded by gifted parents and family members, those were not innate traits. Maureen was welcomed into this cherished haven within Ranelagh, Ireland on August 17th of 1920. Marguerita Lu. FitzSimons made a name for herself with her contralto. Charles FitzSimons was a successful businessman from Dublin who also controlled a portion of the Irish Shamrock Rovers, a soccer club in Ireland. Maureen FitzSimons was the daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons completed this lovely family. Maureen did well as a sporty woman and was a gruelling athlete in games when she was young. Additionally her talent, she also had a knack for acting. She won almost all Feis Award for Theater and Drama the country could provide. As she reached the age of 14 the Abbey Theater accepted her and allowed her to live out her passion for classical theatre and opera singing.
