Ricci is the second-youngest child of Ralph Ricci and Sarah Murdoch. Ricci was born in Santa Monica, California. Her mother was former Ford Agency actress in the 1960s, later became a real estate agent. Her father is a former lawyer and also a drug counsellor, primal theraputic therapy and a gym instructor. Ricci claimed that her Italian heritage was a result from her name. Four or five generations ago the Italian couple tied the knot with one an Irish woman. All their sons were born. The Irish were married to more wives and had more children. Ricci relocated in Montclair from Italy along with her family. Ricci enrolled at Montclair High School.
