Annette O'Toole was raised in Houston, Texas at her mom's dance studio. In her toddler years, she appeared on TV for her first time, at the age of two. After 10 years of singing and dance lessons, her mother and she headed on a journey to L.A. to try and see if a show business career could be a possibility. In less than two months, she got her first professional job: dancing with Danny Kaye on The Danny Kaye Show. "I've used my dancing and singing lessons in a variety of ways," she says. "The mental discipline gained from these classes is a huge benefit for an actor." O'Toole's first acting role was My Three Sons, followed by roles in Gunsmoke, The Partridge Family, The Mod Squad, and Hawaii Five-O. Through the years, she's played in more than 40 episodes Despite all the success on television and film, O'Toole's deepest love is the theater. She decided, after her time on Smallville was over, to dedicate herself to the theater. It's exactly what she's been doing since beginning of this decade. The first time she auditioned for a show in New York led her to be cast as The Sea Gull. The actress has been featured in several off-Broadway shows, including Adam Rapp's Kindness and Tracy Letts' Man from Nebraska.
